John Denver was a superstar artist who was a hit with his pop-folk songs, many of which were located in Colorado. Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. is a New Mexican born singer-songwriter who fell in adore with Colorado. Denver's popular songs about his adopted state brought many people to Colorado. There isn't another performer that embodies Colorado like John Denver said G. Brown director of the Colorado Music Hall of Fame. Denver was the Hall of Fame's inaugural inductee was recognized with this honor in 2011. To many, Denver is the symbol of Colorado. While traveling, I will meet people on the other side of the world. As an example, you might meet people who is from New Zealand. And when someone asks you if you're from Colorado people will respond with "Oh John Denver!" Brown stated. Take Me Home Country Roads was Denver's top 10 hit after performing with small folk music bands. It was co-written by and recorded by Bill Danoff. Danoff composed the song to Johnny Cash but Denver recognized its potential after hearing it first. A few days after the performance to a throng of fans on the streets of Washington D.C., the artist recorded the song.
