Emma
Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson, was born in Paris France of British parents Jacqueline Luesby Watson and Chris Watson both lawyers. After moving to Oxfordshire when she was five, Emma attended The Dragon School. Emma's dream was to become an actor. When she was six, she joined the Oxford Stagecoach Theatre Arts branch in which she was taught classes in acting, singing and dancing. In a school play and an Stagecoach production, Emma took as the lead role at age 10, and acted. The casting process began in 1999 for Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2001) the movie adaptation of British author J.K. Rowling's bestselling novel. Agents for casting found Emma through her Oxford theatre instructor. David Heyman informed Emma, Daniel Radcliffe, and Rupert Grint following auditions for 8 times. They were cast as three leads Hermione Gringer Harry Potter Ron Weasley. Emma's screen debut was Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone's release in the year 2001. The film broke records for the opening day sales as well as opening week-end take-offs and was the highest-grossing film in 2001. Critics praised the film and the performance of three leading actors of the young generation. The Daily Telegraph, an influential British paper, called Emma's performances "amazing". Emma received five nominations for her outstanding performance. Later, she won the Young Artist Award in Leading Young Actresses of a Film.
